Bigby Wolf is huffing, puffing, and blowing the figurative doors off of Summer Game Fest. At long last, The Wolf Among Us 2 has re-emerged after eight years of almost-uninterrupted silence.
The sequel is due out in 2027, and the new version of Telltale Games has revealed that a remastered version of the original Wolf Among Us is coming later this year, sure to introduce the game to a new generation.
Beyond the trailer for each, not much else was shown or mentioned, but if you’ve been waiting nearly a decade for the sequel, it must feel nice to know it has a release window–even as its not the game’s first. Hopefully this one sticks.
The Wolf Among Us is an adaptation of Fables, the comic book by Bill WIllingham that centers on a neo-noir version of New York in which fairy-tale characters live in hiding among humanity. Protagonist Bigby Wolf is an investigator often called upon to crack cases involving magical mischief and even murder.
The Wolf Among Us originally launched in 2013 and kept releasing episodically into 2014. Players always wanted a sequel, and it was announced in 2019, before Telltale collapsed. The Telltale Games that is creating the sequel is a revival featuring some of the original developers.
