I’ve found six 1440p gaming monitors for under $200, so now’s the time to ditch 1080p and pick up some more pixels for less

With the price of everything else climbing sky high, I find it genuinely astonishing that you can pick up a great 1440p gaming monitor for under $200. In fact, I’ve found six of the beasties for well under that figure, with the cheapest 27-incher starting at just $110.
And for this sort of cash, I think it’s time those of you on 1080p displays start thinking about an upgrade. Yes, it’ll be slightly more taxing on your graphics card, so that’s worth taking into account. But otherwise, the leap from an old 1080p panel to a shiny new 1440p model can be surprisingly significant in terms of your gaming experience.

I’ve tried to make this a wide-ranging selection, so I’ve found a 100 Hz MSI IPS display for $130, a 180 Hz 27-inch Acer Nitro model for $160, and even a speedy 200 Hz Gigabyte panel for $180, among others.
Each of these gaming monitors represents fantastic value right now, and means you can pick up a relatively cheap upgrade for your gaming setup in 2026. Which, let’s face it, is something of a rarity these days. To the pixelmobile!
