Well, it’s officially Labor Day, and the gods of capitalism will be damned if they don’t turn an event into an excuse for discounts. Not that I’m complaining—I’ll take any morsel I can during the ongoing global memory shortage. And actually, the deals right now aren’t too bad at all.
Gaming PC deals are what I keep my eye on week-in, week-out, and while we definitely have to adjust our expectations given the ‘new normal’ of inflated prices, there are still some decent picks out there. I’ve managed to whittle the pickings down to the six below, and I’ve included some for all kinds of budgets, from sub-$1,000 all the way up to $2,500+.

Given the memory crisis, for my money I’d be looking to guarantee a decent dolloping of memory in my rig. To that end, for under $1,500 I’d probably be considering the iBuyPower Slate for $1,399 at Walmart. Yes, you’re ‘only’ getting an RTX 5060 Ti here, but a powerful CPU and 32 GB of DDR5 RAM will stand you in very good stead right now.
Of course, the PC that will stand you in the best stead is the HP Omen 35L for $2,620 at Best Buy. That one comes with 32 GB of DDR5 too (and fast DDR5 at that), plus the same CPU, but here you’re getting an RTX 5080. Which will, of course, get you up and running at max settings in any game, even at 4K in most titles.
It’s just a shame it only comes with 1 TB of storage, but you can always check out our SSD deals page to see if there’s another terabyte drive you could throw in there that tickles your fancy. Perhaps this Kingston NV3 for $157 at Amazon.

That’s thanks not only to the Core i7 chip but also the 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, which offers plenty of peace of mind during this global memory shortage. Sadly, you’re only getting the 8 GB version of the GPU, though.
