Whether you love it or hate it, or simply wish it had a better name, friendslop is taking the world by storm. 2026 has introduced a plethora of new titles to the emerging genre, but perhaps none have had the same level of overnight success as Meccha Chameleon, a hide-and-seek style multiplayer game that puts player creativity to the test. After taking over Steam with 10 million copies sold in just about two weeks, Meccha Chameleon is making the jump to consoles, as Nintendo just announced it is coming to Switch 2 today.
As revealed during Nintendo’s second Direct this week, Meccha Chameleon fans will soon be able purchase the game on Switch 2, though its exact launch time and price have yet to be announced. Meccha Chameleon stands out as one of the most creative games of 2026, embracing human crafted chaos in a world run rampant with AI-generated slop.
Nintendo has not revealed if the Switch 2 version of Meccha Chameleon will differ from its PC counterpart, which can host lobbies of up to 24 players and is heavily moddable. In fact, one of Meccha Chameleon’s greatest strengths is its vast library of player-created maps, all of which are available to download and play in-game. These range from other game maps to crowded libraries and labyrinthian museums.
