The Heart Wants What It Wants and Ocha story arc guide
It’s going to be a while before you can help Ocha in The Blood of Dawnwalker. That’s because you need to do a few quests before you have the opportunity to meet her. We’ve got a quick summary below, so feel free to read each guide that we’ve linked:

A Study In Crimson – Help Vicho investigate murders to learn of Lacra’s whereabouts.
A Friend Like This – Meet Lacra and gain her trust.
Song of the Mountain – Travel with Lacra to the hidden Uriash Village and avoid hostilities.
A Mother’s Plea – Once you’re done with the above, chat with the uriash matriarch, Bakr-Erga.

The Blood of Dawnwalker A Mother’s Plea quest is where Bakr-Erga tells you about the village elders. She’s the last in line because her daughter, Ocha, is missing.
Time to head to the capital.
Where to find Ocha in Svartrau City
Your only clue if you want to find Ocha in The Blood of Dawnwalker is that she’s in one of the taverns in Svartrau City. You can ask around, or you could head directly to the tavern in Altmarkt. Talk to the bartender, who’ll tell you that Ocha is sitting in the corner.
When you chat with Ocha, she’ll get pissed off. You’ll be challenged to a fistfight. Win this bout to have a calmer talk with Ocha, as well as her friend, Nora.
It seems that the two have fallen in with a crime boss named Andrei. Your goal now is to check Andrei’s hideout so you can steal his memento. Ocha will then use her abilities to cast a hex on Andrei.

Go to the Alternmarkt tavern (left) and try not to get knocked out by Ocha (right).
How to enter Andrei’s hideout
This is where you start The Heart Wants What It Wants quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker. There are multiple options here, and various outcomes. Assuming you want to keep Ocha and Nora alive–and on good terms with you–you can try the following:

Go to the butcher’s shop, which is actually a front for Andrei’s illicit activities. Wait until it’s nighttime and use your vampiric powers to climb up the balcony.
If it’s still daytime, you can go to the butcher’s stall and activate Focus Mode. Look for a beggar who’s sitting on the street and pay him 50 denarii. Then, if you have any type of silver item in your inventory, talk to the butcher so you can enter the hideout.

Note 1: If you attempt to clamber onto the balcony during the day, the script of the NPCs inside the building will break. You won’t be able to progress this quest any further.
Note 2: If you go along with the butcher and present some silver, you’ll see Andrei who’s about to chop off a man’s arm. Stay silent and avoid any aggressive/hostile responses. If a fight breaks out and you end up killing Andrei, Ocha will be angry with you since you went against her plan.

You can either deal with the butcher (left) or climb up the balcony (right).
Which of Andrei’s mementos should you steal: Cleaver, pendant, or ring?
Okay, let’s say you’re inside Andrei’s hideout and you managed to avoid any fights so far. You can reply to Andrei with the following:

“Here’s what I’ve got.”
“Who wouldn’t be? What we’re doing here is illegal.”
“You know how to handle it, that’s for sure.”

These conciliatory responses will mollify Andrei. You’ll then have an opportunity to steal an item while he’s not looking. So, which among Andrei’s mementos should you get in The Blood of Dawnwalker?

The options are the cleaver, the pendant, and the ring.
The correct item is the ring. The hint comes from Andrei himself, who recalls a time when his father punched him so hard that the ring nearly caved in his skull.
This core memory is why the ring means so much to him, and why it’s the memento that Ocha should use for her hex.

Ocha would love to punch this guy, too.
How to save Nora
This is the next part of The Heart Wants What It Wants quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker. It occurs so quickly that it’s like it happened right under your nose:

Basically, once you grab the memento and leave Andrei’s hideout, you have to return to Ocha. This costs 2x Time Segments.
Ocha will inform you that Andrei’s goons kidnapped Nora. Yes, she’s now in the hideout that you just left.
Ocha, in a panic, wants to attack immediately, but there’s a risk that Nora might die due to the fighting. Instead, just tell her: “We should stick to the plan.”
Go back outside the building and activate Focus Mode. Walk over to the pigsty and choose [open the cage].
Once the guard gets distracted, peer through the ground-floor window. If you picked the ring as a memento, Ocha’s hex will succeed and Andrei will slam his head into the walls over and over. Looks like the crime boss got more than just a migraine.

Avoid frantic fights while Nora is a hostage.
How to make Ocha go home or stay in the city
This part concludes The Heart Wants What It Wants quest. You’ll have a chat with Ocha and your replies determine whether Ocha stays in the city or goes back to her tribe. First, tell her that you’d like to eat. Then, go to the river and catch 3x Crayfish. When you sit next to her by the campfire, you’ll trigger the conversation.
First choice:

“Do you miss home?” – Go back home.
“Do you like the city?” – Stay in the city.

Second choice:

“New things can be exciting, sure.” – Stay in the city.
“Meh. Nothing better than homemade food.” – Go back home.

Third choice:

“Our neighbors helped a bit” – Stay in the city.
“Other villagers just cared about themselves.” – Go back home.

If Andrei died via Ocha’s hex, she’ll be more inclined to stay in the city to become the new syndicate boss. However, if you pick all three “home” responses, she’ll return to her village. Likewise, you’ll receive 250 XP, 150 denarii, and the Broad Swing Manual for your efforts.
Help Ocha with her decision.
A Mother’s Plea: Conclusion and Ocha’s wares
Now that you’ve helped Ocha in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you can finish A Mother’s Plea. Return to the uriash matriarch and tell her the news. Regardless of Ocha’s decision, she’ll give you 250 XP, 150 denarii, and the Soul Stigma Manual.
As an aside, if Ocha decided to stay in the city, she and Nora will run Andrei’s syndicate. Pay her a visit and ask for her to train you:

You have to do a sparring match using weapons. This only happens once.
After beating Ocha, she’ll become a vendor. She mostly sells training manuals.
She also buys your silver items.

Report back to Ocha’s mom (left) and buy some of Ocha’s wares (right) if you want.
That does it for our guide on how to help Ocha in The Blood of Dawnwalker. Note that the uriash left behind glyphs all over Vale Sangora. If you haven’t discovered all of them yet, you can read our Pilgrimage for Power guide.
