G27Q20 | IPS | 200 Hz: was $219.99 now $129Thanks be to Newegg’s ‘Daily Doorbuster’ deals. If you catch this before the discount drops off, you’re getting a fantastic deal for a very snappy 1440p panel. 200 Hz (210 Hz with OC) at this price point is no joke, especially for a 1440p panel. And if you miss the deal, it will hopefully go back to a still very reasonable $150 discounted price, which is also worth snapping up.

It’s that time of the year again when retailers start flinging their best shots at us: November. Black Friday is at the end of the month on November 27, but for a long while, now, retailers have peeled the borders back and started some of their deals early. I’m not complaining, though, because it means we occasionally get granted something like this: a 200 Hz, 1440p, IPS panel for just $129 at Newegg.
That’s thanks to Newegg’s November ‘Doorbusters’ deals, which pop up for a limited time, often while stocks last. I was trawling these upcoming deals earlier and noticed that this particularly juicy one is going live today at 9am PT. That’s exactly the time I’m posting this, so if you’re reading this, there’s a chance it may still be in stock for $129.

To be clear, before the Doorbuster deal, it was already on sale for $150, which is still a bargain for a fast 1440p monitor like this one. And if it returns to that price after people have lapped up the $129 ones, I’d say it’s still worth a look.
For well under $200, I’d usually expect to have to pick between a high refresh rate or 1440p resolution, either grabbing a 1080p, 200+ Hz monitor, or a 1440p, 144/165 Hz one. But you’re getting both, here.
In previous testing of monitors with different refresh rates, I found 360 Hz to be a sweet spot for competitive FPS gaming. But around 200 Hz is still great, and is to my eyes still a noticeable jump above 144 Hz, and certainly anything below. And for any other kind of gaming, 200 Hz is glorious, especially at 1440p rather than 1080p.
In fact, if you’re keen on getting an all-rounder, knowing you might play some competitive FPS as well as some other kinds of games, I’d say something like this would be an ideal choice.
That’s assuming you can’t stretch your budget to grab an OLED. Those aren’t too expensive these days, either, but they’re still well north of $129. Praise be to November, and hardware still largely unaffected by the global memory shortage.
