This is the first RTX 5060 Ti gaming PC I’ve seen for anywhere near $1,000 for quite a while, and I’d still pick it up despite the catch

Viper | RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB | 16 GB DDR4: was $1399.99 now $1149.99There is a caveat to this deal. This machine is running just 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, and judging by the picture, it’s just a single stick. However, you’re getting an RTX 5060 Ti in here for not too far north of $1,000, which is better than I’ve seen at this price point for quite some time. A future RAM upgrade will be in order, but for starters this is great.

There’s been a dire lack of decent gaming PCs going for around the $1,000โ€“$1,500 mark over the past few months. The culprit is, of course, the ongoing global memory shortage and all that it entails. So yes, I’m gonna jump at the chance to highlight an actually decent gaming PC for $1,150 at Newegg, even if it does have a caveat.
That caveat is its memory, which looks to be just a single 16 GB stick of DDR4. To be clear, this is not greatโ€”however, it’s still not as bad as you might think. 16 GB of RAM is still perfectly fine for gaming in 2026. Ditto using DDR4 RAM, and ditto running a single DIMM over a single channel.

We’ve done the testing on this, and although that last one will knock a small chunk off your frame rate, it’s not night and day. So yes, you can expect less fps than if you have 32 GB of DDR5, for instance, but assuming you’re not exclusively playing CPU-intensive games, you won’t be losing a ton of frames.
It’s all worth it to actually get a decent rig for sale at this kind of price in the current market. Part of the reason I get so excited about seeing gaming PC deals in this range is because it doesn’t feel great highlighting things that only people with a big budget can afford. The $1,000โ€”$1,500 range is the one I usually look at for my own full-system upgrades, so I know how frustrating it can be to see nothing worthwhile for this kind of cash.
Setting aside the RAM, you’re getting a rather capable little PC, too. I say ‘little’ because it’s one of those rigs that has the PSU tucked around back, which makes for a small and stubby thing that I think looks rather appealing. The 650 W PSU should be more than enough for this CPU/GPU combo, and the processor itself is still a great shout for a budget or mid-range rig.

RTX 5060 Ti vs RTX 5060 and RTX 5070 performance
These benchmark results compare the real-world gaming performance of an 8 GB RTX 5060 Ti to an RTX 5060 and RTX 5070. Upscaling and frame gen is used when possible.

In some games, the RTX 5060 Ti performs close to or the same as the RTX 5060. In others, it offers a significant performance jump, although the RTX 5070 is still much faster.

Again, don’t expect fantastic productivity performance from this rig, as even with 32 GB of fast RAM the 6x P-Core CPU will struggle to match higher-end ones. But for gaming, where things are GPU-bound, it’ll do just fine at 1080p and even 1440p. You’ll have to lower some settings and enable upscaling to get some modern games running at a smooth frame rate at 1440p, but no game should be out of reach with a little tweaking of your settings.
And when it comes to the RAM situation, the door is open for you to upgrade to a proper 32 GB kit down the line. That’ll still be DDR4 RAM, but 32 GB of good DDR4 RAM is more than enough for handling most tasks. You can pick up a decent 32 GB kit of fast DDR4 RAM for $195 right now at Newegg.
That would still put the total cost at lower than $1,400, which is a good price for an RTX 5060 Ti rig with 32 GB of RAM in this market. Importantly, though, you can pick up the PC with still very usable specs for cheaper than this right now, and wait until you’re ready to upgrade that RAM.
