Samsung’s Entry Level Curved Gaming Monitor Is $190 For Prime Day

If you’ve been holding out until Prime Day to upgrade your monitor, your patience has officially paid off. Amazon is offering the premium Samsung 32-Inch Odyssey G55C Series Monitor for just $190 (was $330), which is a new all-time low. The monitor has been no stranger to sales over the years, though its average price typically hovers around $275. And now that it’s $190, it’s an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a more immersive display for their desktop.

This 32-inch monitor has a 2560×1440 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response time. It also features a 1000R curve for enhanced viewing angles. Other notable features include Radeon FreeSync to prevent tearing and an Eye Saver Mode that reduces blue light. On the back of the display, you’ll find the usual connectivity options (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB, Audio, Power).

It’s also got an eye-catching design–all black with some sharp angles that give it a distinctive but not over-the-top “gamer” vibe. User reviews on Amazon are overwhelmingly positive, with it earning 4.4 stars with around 1,800 reviews.
Okay real talk, the Odyssey G55C Series is impressive, but it’s not perfect. For instance, you can find monitors offering higher refresh rates. And 32 inches might be ideal for most games, but some could definitely benefit from an ultra-wide setup. If those are dealbreakers, consider taking a look at the Samsung 40-Inch Odyssey G7. It’s down to its lowest price ever for Prime Day, and it gets you an 180Hz refresh rate along with an expansive 40-inch display. It’s still pricey at $630 (was $1,000), but we’ve never seen it cheaper.
For a more direct competitor to the Samsung 32-Inch Odyssey, the Alienware 34 Curved Gaming Monitor is $271 (was $350). It has a slightly larger screen (34-inches to the Odyssey G55C’s 32-inches), slightly quicker refresh rate, a gentler curve, and a similar “gamer” aesthetic.
